Mavis Emma Buzzard is a Licensed Professional Counselor who obtained her Masters degree in Counseling and Art Therapy from Wayne State University in 2011. She has extensive experience in community mental health and clinical private practice in Wayne County and Oakland County. She utilizes an integrative CBT, trauma-informed, existential approach.
Mavis Emma is passionate about the benefits of including creativity in mental health care- as art, writing, and music are central in her own healing journey. She graduated Cum Laude from U of M School of Art and Design. Mavis Emma’s research contributions have been published in the peer-reviewed journal, Frontiers in Psychology and in the book, Social Work Research Using Arts-Based Methods.
